English: Arthur Street, Belfast. As a response to the bombing campaign in the early 70's many streets in central Belfast were closed to vehicular traffic. They were later pedestrianised and paved. With the benefit of hindsight the "streetscape" was not of a particularly high standard and certainly lagged behind best practice in continental Europe. The "Streets Ahead" scheme is a belated attempt to rectify matters. This is the work in progress (behind the inevitable safety fence) in Arthur Street. Continue to 908025.
